Finance Manager

Robert Half has exclusively partnered with a growing group of companies to set up a brand new Finance Function in Truro. We are kicking off this exciting journey with the recruitment of a Finance Manager to come on board to help with the initial developments.

The Role

This newly created role is a senior finance position that will provide financial support to the GM's of the 4 operating businesses. As this is a new department the first 6 months will be spent bedding in financial processes and reporting. The Finance Manager will be expected to oversee/support the following activities: -

• Monthly management accounts
• Budgeting & Forecasting
• Overhead variance analysis
• Development of appropriate KPI's
• 13-week cash flows (as required)
• Accounts payable
• Payroll & VAT
• Accounts receivable (limited - mainly cash businesses)
• Nominal ledger/bank reconciliations
• Internal audit/oversee the effectiveness of company controls

The Company

The current organisation is made up of 4 limited companies c£12m turnover plus a further 2 in the next 12 months (further £12m). The businesses are split between London and Cornwall within the Hospitality sector, with the bulk of the operations in London. Currently our client is setting up a cloud based accounting system (System still to be decided, however possibility that could be Xero). As this is a 'blank sheet' of paper they are looking to set up a modern finance function delivering decision support and transactional processing efficiencies.

Your Profile

You will be looking for an opportunity where you can really make your own mark and have a huge impact into creating a brand new finance function. A role like this is a rare one in Cornwall and it could be a fast track in your career. Commercial skills alloyed with strong financial technical capability are key for this position. You will need to own a strong work ethic and capabilities to input into decisions that will directly impact this new function. You must be qualified (CIMA/ACA/ACCA) for this role and have managerial experience, as this role will recruit for a further 5 direct reports. You must also be comfortable with occasional travel to London.

Salary

You should expect a salary between £45,000 and £50,000 subject to your experience.
