Assistant Financial Controller
Would you like to lead and develop a project accounting team, with strategic influence? We currently have a vacancy for an Assistant Financial Controller at our site in Rochester.
As an Assistant Financial Controller, you will be responsible for providing financial leadership for the effective delivery of day-to-day financial support. Key activities include leading the financial business planning process, supporting development of strategic growth for the business, effective management and delivery of financial performance, and the management and development of the project finance team.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to work within a rapidly growing and successful part of one of the world's leading defence, security and aerospace companies.
Your main responsibilities as an Assistant Financial Controller will involve:
Leading the financial business planning ensuring that a coherent and balanced plan is generated in a timely manner for management review, with early identification of issues, considering options for improvement in financial performance and/or future business growth
Leading financial support to development of Strategic Growth Options, and supporting the generation of business cases in support of investment to underpin both Growth Options and the agreed business plan
Providing financial leadership to the project accounting team ensuring the effective delivery of day-to-day financial support to the business
Producing consolidated management information with clear and succinct articulation of key messages and themes for internal reviews and reviews with senior management
Ensuring effective relationships are maintained with the function and project teams within the business
Working closely on legacy issues within the area with engagement from commercial, procurement and project management
Your skills and qualifications as an Assistant Financial Controller:
ACCA or CIMA qualified (either fully qualified, or at the final stages)
Project / Management Accounting experience
Strong analytical skills
People management/supervisory experience
Good business awareness and commercial understanding
Experience from within the Manufacturing industry would be advantageous
Working knowledge of Oracle would be beneficial

You should be able to manage the expectation of multiple stakeholders against conflicting deadlines whilst maintaining a consistent position on the financials.
