My client is a leading insurer based out of prestigious offices located in Kings Hill, is looking to recruit a Technical Underwriter to join their business. The company has several divisions, with teams dedicated to offering specific products. The role of the Underwriting is to profitably underwrite new insurance schemes and renew existing schemes on behalf of the company, in accordance with the authority delegated by the Managing Director. A key part of the technical underwriting role is to produce compliant and accurate policy wordings, broker liaison including responding to queries and providing presentations and to ensure that working practices are compliant and the underwriting team meet or exceed the compliance standards.

Here are some of the requirements of this role:

• Broker liaison
• Responding to broker queries within a timely manner
• Policy wording; creation, amendment and interpretation
• Underwriting compliance
• Internal under writing queries
• Checking broker slips/scheme notifications
• Projects as agreed with the Head of Underwriting

To be considered for this role you will have:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Underwriting experience
• Influencing and negotiation skills
• IT Numeracy
