Page Personnel are currently working with our client based in Sheffield who are currently recruiting a fantastic opportunity for an strong payroll professional to join a small team responsible for a bureau of around 250 clients, as part of a wider professional services company.
The reason for this excellent opportunity is due to the firms increased growth and demand for an extra head to assist the Payroll Manager.
Our client is based in the heart of Sheffield, with excellent transport links within walking distance including the train to Central Sheffield.
Our client dominates a huge presence in the South Yorkshire region, with two sites one in Sheffield, Chesterfield and Rotherham.
A practice that has organically grown, with a continued success rate of gaining new clients and businesses in the South Yorkshire area.
Clients range from the likes of owner managed businesses through to multimillionaire limited companies.
As the Payroll Clerk you will be reporting directly into the Payroll Manager, your duties will be:
Responsible for the delivery of end to end payroll services administering a portfolio of clients, handling any queries and maintaining relationship. Working closely with the Payroll Manager you will also be involved in project work such as the planned move to a cloud based payroll system. The current payroll system is Sage Payroll, and there are 3 staff in the team, looking after 300 payrolls of up to 80 staff per payroll.
An ideal candidate will be:
- Excellent communications skills
- This candidate must come from a practice background.
- A strong background in payroll, preferably in a multi-site or multi-payroll environment, such as payroll bureau.
- Knowledge of Sage Payroll would be an advantage but system training can be provided.
- Support for study towards a payroll qualification can be provided if desired.
37.5 hours a week + negotiable salary + immediate start + permanent position with a pension scheme + on site parking.
