Salary: to £75.000 DOE or equivalent day rate


Our client is a leading industry name in the financial sector. The business is going through a restructure and are active in their search for a Payroll Project Manager to join the business initially on a 12 month FTC

Job Purpose


To assist the Payroll Manager ensuring the team delivers outstanding Payroll services to external clients. You will pay particular attention to systems, processes and team output. You will help to develop and manage team individuals in a period of change


Skills Required

Main duties

Working with the existing Payroll Manager to ensure that the systems, procedures and output of the Payroll team are all at a consistent level

Higher level services include working on the most complex and demanding clients; being involved in the sign off of payments using the BACS system and provision of these deliverables in an accurate and timely way.
You will have involvement in line managing the PA’s and generally assisting with their development; assisting with the set-up of new clients and developing higher level skills in terms of the use of the payroll software.

It is essential you can build strong relationships with clients at all levels and able to work with differing personalities

You will have significant interaction with the senior team up to CEO level and clients


The Payroll team is a genuinely supportive and collaborative working environment and this role will be a significant part of generating and maintaining this atmosphere. The development of this team atmosphere is a key part of the role and the leadership that the Payroll PM demonstrates will allow the team to continue to function autonomously,


Qualifications Required

Attributes required specifically for this role

• Hands-on Payroll experience, ideally within a client servicing environment.
• A track record of process improvement within a Payroll, HR or Finance Department.
• Excellent Project Manager.
• A superb communicator and demonstrable leadership qualities.
• CIPP or payroll related qualification desirable
