Procurement Consultant (S2P)

As part of our EY – SC&O team, you will help clients to improve the performance of their supply chain. Working with EY-SC&O proprietary frameworks, you will help clients to improve reliability, flexibility and responsiveness of their supply chain whilst reducing the total cost. Typical role representation would include developing operating models, redesigning procurement processes, optimizing working capital, performing quick assessment, developing assets/tools and coming up with thought leadership.

The opportunity

We’re looking for a Consultant with an expertise in Procurement to join us in EY-SC&O. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a leading firm whilst being instrumental in the growth of a new service offering.

Your key responsibilities

  • Work with the extended teams and/or clients to design and deliver actionable supply chain transformation assignments
  • Candidate is expected to work as part of a global team to support sourcing and procurement engagements, such as sourcing direct/indirect categories, conducting spend analyses / market intelligence, identifying cost reduction or process improvement opportunities, zero based budgeting, supplier relationship management and risk strategy etc.
  • Design procurement solutions, create operating models, governance frameworks and participate/conduct workshops
  • Acquire knowledge of new age Source to Pay tools; such as Ariba, COUPA, SAP, etc. and work on process design/ reengineering/ implementation projects related to the process and/or tool
  • Review and validate data and further build optimization models, analytical reports and presentations
  • Conduct secondary research/market intelligence to back client deliverables
  • Participate actively in building an industry focused practice across EY service lines; Specialization in a specific sector will be an added advantage
  • Provide solutions to unstructured problems

Skills and attributes for success

  • Experience in procurement systems and processes with flair of analytics
  • Experience in a consulting firm and global exposure
  • Effective communication skills and experience in customer facing role
  • Ability to work independently and proactive

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Higher Degree (Supply Chain/ Operations) from Tier-1 institutes with 3-8 years of relevant business/consulting experience in procurement function
  • Understanding of tools / levers / concepts like strategic sourcing, global sourcing, e-sourcing, total cost of ownership, early vendor involvement etc.
  • Knowledge of using e-sourcing tools like Ariba, Coupa, SAP
  • Expertise in end-to-end Procurement Process covering one or more of the following areas: procurement strategy, category management, spend analytics, supplier research, purchasing & expediting and P2P
  • Ability to identify cost optimization opportunities in one or more areas covering purchasing category management, direct materials procurement, Engineered / Designed goods, indirect spends, contracts / services procurement & administration
  • Ability to prepare and deliver presentations for client and management is an essential part of the role

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
