Hays is proud to be partnered with a well-established and stable financial services organisation seeking a Bookkeeping Assistant to join their Client Support and Accounts Team. This position is a 12 months FTC due to ongoing projects, but the position has been in place for some time and the vacancy is a result of internal promotion suggesting the likelihood of longevity.
Your new role
Working within the Bookkeeping Team, your responsibility is to ensure the regular, accurate and efficient maintenance of ledgers for a range of client portfolios. This will include updating Stock Dividend postings, completing Closedowns, Bring Forwards, and Foreign Currency Revaluations. Further to this, you will maintain and provide documentation as evidence of bookkeeping work. You will provide monthly and ad-hoc reporting to the Client Services Manager. In addition to members of the Bookkeeping Team and Client Services Manager, will liaise with administration staff across a range of offices and the Accounts Preparing Team.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have accounting or bookkeeping experience with a degree or professional qualification in either. Given the team view themselves very much as a public practice environment, dealing with numerous clients, experience of working within such an organisation will enhance your application. You will have excellent attention to detail and the proven ability to work to tight deadlines. You will have strong interpersonal skills coming across as approachable and a team player. You will be inquisitive, asking questions and not assuming or accepting of all information. This role requires a passion for numeracy and the motivation to investigate and improve with strong working knowledge and understanding of Excel. Furthermore, experience of the accounting software Jobstream will enhance your application.
