You will be working within a team of 4 to ensure tax compliance through the application of your technical knowledge to daily compliance matters and reporting activities. You will be deal with indirect tax returns for both UK and European entities as well as supporting the Group tax team

Description

The successful VAT Accountant will be responsible for, but not restricted to:

  • Ensuring tax compliance by preparing and filing indirect tax returns in a timely manner
  • Preparing the information to support the corporate tax reporting and filing
  • Supporting the monthly accounting and reporting activities by performing centralised accounting activities for month end closing
  • Supporting with tax related audits, both internal and external, and be the first point of contact within the business for indirect tax-related queries

Profile

The successful VAT Accountant will:

  • Be ACA/ACCA qualified with 5+ years' post-qualification experience, or equivalent Bachelors' degree or designation with practical financial accounts experience
  • Have a sound technical accounting knowledge and strong understanding of the UK Tax rules
  • Be capable of applying the understanding and knowledge in daily compliance and reporting activities
  • Have well-developed PC skills and expert knowledge of SAP
  • Be proactive, with good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Have a willingness to learn and a can-do attitude, wanting to succeed as an individual as well as team

Ideally, they will:

  • Have previous experience in a tax department at a professional firm(s)
  • Have previously worked in a tax accountant role
