Part Time Financial Controller

We're looking for a part time financial controller to join our team and help take our business to the next level.

We're turning over £6.5m/year and have around 60 staff. We've got a great team spirit, and our staff turnover is really low. You'll be the first ever financial controller into the business, and you will therefore be a key part in overhauling processes, controls and policies in the business. We’re also expanding into the USA.

Key tasks will involve:

Working with our software packages Xero and our In-House System

Keeping a very close reign on our forecasting to provide up-to-date, detailed and comprehensive business revenue and cost forecasts. Working with the team to get the information required.

Producing monthly management accounts in standard P&L/BS Formats in addition to custom reports and analytics as requested by the board

Checking invoices for compliance with IFRS particularly in regard to Revenue Recognition

Overseeing our book keeper to ensure expenses are entered correctly

Doing VAT returns for the two group companies

Working with our development team to improve our in-house systems to meet your financial requirements

Possibly - doing year end statutory accounts. Currently outsourced and we’d like you to assess whether we should bring this back in house

Possibly - Running payroll for the staff. Currently outsourced and we’d like you to assess whether we should bring this back in house

You'll need to be a good team player, as a good part of your job will be working with colleagues particularly in the area of business forecasting.

Salary is negotiable, but our target is around £30,000 for 3 days/week. We work on a flexitime system meaning you can work flexibly as long as you are in the office 10:00-12:00 and 14:00-16:00.

Company pension scheme is 2% contributed by us, and 1% (or more) by you.
