Director, International Accounting

The Role:

We're looking for a Director of International Accounting to join us in our Belfast office, working remotely with the ability to return to the local office when permitted. As the leader of our International Finance team reporting to the Global Controller, this role will provide accounting oversight for Factor's U.K. and Poland operations. This position requires an understanding of, and management towards, the bigger picture, but with the ability to take a hands-on approach. In this role, you'll be responsible for multiple important operations in Finance, and maintaining Factor's books. You will own the close, review, and validation processes for our European operations, currently focused on the UK and Poland. You will own all statutory and compliance processes, audits, and filings across these regional operations. You will oversee multiple third-party providers that today provide tax, compliance, accounting, and payroll services. You will manage the international compliance calendar and review third-party preparations of filings. You will manage a team of third-party accountants responsible for the end-to-end accounting process, including the subledgers, general ledger, financial statement close, consolidation, and reporting processes. As part of this oversight, you will manage the relationships, review deliverables, and provide technical guidance and feedback as required to maintain compliance for tax and statutory compliance. You will evaluate third parties and look to bring functions in-house where possible. Responsibilities:

Specifically, this role will: Ensure the tax and compliance calendar is administered timely Work with auditors in support of statutory, group, and tax audits Oversee third party teams managing the general ledger accounting process Oversee third party teams managing the subledger functions (AR, AP) Oversee and provide guidance to third party teams performing the payroll processing function Provide accounting support for the UK and Poland operations overall Analyze third party providers for effectiveness, while looking for and executing on opportunities to bring costs in-house Work closely with all members of the finance department including the Controller, Head of FP&A and the CFO Manage our UK and Poland vendor relationships including all aspects of procure to pay Analyse transaction information to identify refunds, delinquent accounts and insufficient payments Prepare financial statement and subledger reporting, analysing the data and recognizing trends Maintain performance reporting (KPI's) and ensure targets are successfully delivered Qualifications:

Essential Criteria : In addition to the above, here are the required skills, knowledge, capabilities, and education for this role:

Qualified through a recognized financial institution; eg. ACA, ACCA, CAI, CIMA Minimum of 5 years PQE overall experience in payroll, accounting, or finance Experience with accounting in UK Familiarity with accounting and corporate finance principles and procedures Must be able to effectively communicate and build professional relationships Demonstrable ability to effectively build and direct an accounting team with minimal oversight Ability to manage payroll across multiple locations (ideally UK and Poland) The ability to spot and fix issues while working quickly under pressure Proficiency with MS Excel and comfort with the remaining MS Office Suite Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located Desirable criteria:
