Since opening its doors in Darlington over 35 years ago Northgate Vehicle Hire has grown a network of more than 70 branches spreading across the UK from Aberdeen down to Plymouth. We are seeking an outgoing and commercially experienced finance analyst to work in partnership with our area operational teams providing them with budgetary and cost analysis support.

The role

This is a regional role covering our Northern territory from Leeds/Manchester up to and including parts of Scotland.

It’s busy and it’s varied; it’s a job that will provide you with the opportunity to utilise your analytical and, equally important your Business Partnering skills.

You’ll be visiting branch managers within your territory, analyzing branch performance against budget, conducting cost/budget reviews and providing guidance whilst ensuring a greater understanding of their activity and financial outcomes.

You will also be assisting with forecasts, delivering P&L’s, variance analysis, general ledger and month end reporting as well as getting involved in process, compliance and auditing.

Commercial analytics is not just about producing the numbers; you will also be conducting presentations of your findings, giving accurate data and a clear ‘financial’ picture to branch and senior managers.

Skills requirements

Knowledge of our market sector is not essential whilst experience in commercial finance with multi-site responsibility is important.

CIMA, ACCA or ACA is ideal however if you are actively undertaking professional accounting qualifications or part way qualified we would be happy to hear from you.

Strong Excel skills and high attention to detail will be required to accurately and efficiently analyse, manipulate and report data.

With a confident nature you will need to be a good communicator as you’ll be presenting, at times, complex information to a number of departments, branches and stakeholders from board level to branch staff; all with different levels of financial / budget understanding.

There will be regular travel within your region therefore you must have a full driving licence.
