Our client, a fast growing and niche SME in Doncaster is currently looking to recruit a Part Time Credit Controller to be part of a small team, so flexibility is key. You will manage the sales ledger and credit control function for the company and support with other general and accounts administration, ideally working between 25-35 hours per week, over 5 days.

Reporting to the MD, your responsibilities will include:

  • Liaise with customers to manage key accounts relationships, ensure timely receipt of monies due in to agreed payment terms
  • Management of self-billing customers including analysing and researching incoming payments
  • Daily banking and reconciling daily deposits
  • Responsible for the goods return process
  • Resolving discrepancies and make necessary adjustments
  • Systems super user, including developing controls, processes and systems
  • Develop procedures to monitor sales work flow and payment acceptance
  • Chasing outstanding debts via telephone and email
  • Managing a ledger minimising aged debt and maximising cash collection
  • Processing reminder letters and monthly statements
  • Managing customer queries
  • Credit checks, setting credit limits and establishing terms of credit
  • Maintain weekly ledgers detailing clients that are overdue and over credit limit and actions
  • Provide detailed reports on debtors, queries and credit limits weekly
  • Liaising with all departments to clear outstanding issues
  • Ensuring correct procedures are followed for non-payment, including the account going on stop and legal action requested
  • Keep all ledgers tidy and advise the MD of any bad debt or potentially bad debt
  • Providing ad-hoc reports and information as required

The ideal candidate:

  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in credit control/ sales ledger
  • Ability to establish and maintain good relationships, both internally and externally at all levels
  • Will be proactive and confident communicator
  • A true team player and someone who is flexible to help other team members and departments when required
  • IT literate including excel

This is a permanent position although immediately available would also be ideal.
