We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Business Analyst

Principal responsibilities

The Firewall Recertification team form part of the wider Operational Governance team within Telecommunication Services in ITID.

This is a global team working across over 50 countries and multiple technology platforms. There are five product platforms within TS: Core Network, Network Functions, Network Endpoint Connectivity, Unified Communications & Contact Centre. These five product platforms are underpinned by a Platform Engineering Practices Team. Supporting all the product platforms are three shared functions: TS Platform Operations, TS Operational Governance and TS Regional Management.

The opprtunity

Joining an existing team, the role holder will play a key role driving the annual recertification process of firewall rules across the global HSBC estate to ensure that the rules are required or need to be demised iif determined by the business. This is a governance process and involves working with HSBC teams across the globe to ensure the Bank remains compliant to policies and ensuring we adhere to audit and regulatory requirements.

What you will do
  • Responsible for multiple countries, extracting firewall rule data and performing analysis to determine required firewall rules for review prior to seeking certification with owners
  • Looking up firewall rule owners where they are not present using various tools and databases, ensuring any information gained is updated for future use
  • Meeting IT and Business firewall rule owners to support them through the process to obtain desired outcomes as per process
  • Collate and maintain evidence, update tools with progress to maintain an audit trail of activities and decisions
  • Annual recertification of all 3rd party connections and their adherence to the security standards followed by HSBC
  • Provide evidence to close any audit findings.

What you will need to succeed in the role: (Minimum Qualification and Skills Required)
  • Experience of firewall rules and network infrastructure (source, destination & port information) beneficial
  • Exposure to Checkpoint, SkyBox alongside good MS Excel beneficial alongside experience
  • Exposure to cybersecurity and FIM standards
  • Experience working with audit finding and providing evidence
  • Strong attention to detail, good written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in a global geographically diverse team with different time zones would be beneficial but not essential
  • Ability to analyse and communicate complex scenarios to multiple levels of management
  • Able to adhere and deadlines, work autonomously as well as within a team structure and escalate in a timely fashion
  • Continuously strive to improve current process and apply automation of process where applicable
  • Good communication with all stakeholders to ensure that they are informed about the governance process that needs to be followed
  • Ensure compliance and be able to demonstrate adherence to internal controls, Telecoms Group Standards and Information Security Secondary Standards.
  • Deliver on audit , ISR requirements and audit actions

Additional Skills
  • A background in a large complex organisation with IT and Cyber Security is desirable but candidates will be considered who have a willingness to learn.
