Ambridge Harris are recruiting for a firm in Somerset who are looking for a Lead Payroll Advisor. You will be running payroll processes and ensuring that all employees receive accurate and on time payments.

Core Accountabilities
* Monitor the workload of the payroll assistants and escalate issues
* Identify training needs and train/up skill where required
* Monitor the Payroll department email inbox and escalate issues
* Reconcile payrolls at DME stage before sending for approval and correct anomalies
* Running and providing standard reports as and when required
* Maintenance and implementation of processes and procedures for the department where required
* Managing the International Payroll for 19 countries across APAC and EMEA with third party provider, including all third-party payments to tax authorities
* Managing Expat payments
* Proactively checking and challenging the accuracy of information before entering in the payroll system for UK, ROI, Jersey and IOM employees
* Processing the payrolls within scheduled deadlines according to the payroll running timetable (for weekly, 4 weekly and monthly payrolls)
* Checking the timely return of retail store turnaround documents and proactively chasing up on late returns, tracking and reporting regular non-compliance
* Completing new hire processes by entering P45 and new starter checklist details and checking and releasing employee bank related details
* Processing court orders
* Processing all statutory payments and relevant documentation in line with legislative requirements
* Off system calculation of payrolls and entering values for record keeping and payslip creation
* Managing corrections within the payroll running process and liaising with the HR Administrators to ensure corrective actions are processed on time
* Preparing and checking exception reports and supporting information for review by the Senior and APM prior to payroll exit
* Confirming authorisation for and processing loans ensuring appropriate repayment periods or write-offs
* Producing the e-payslips
* Managing overpayments as per the agreed procedures
* Ensuring that tax information passed to and from HMRC is processed accurately and on time
* Running and providing standard reports as required including P45s
* Assisting with the End of Year payroll processes and preparing HMRC documentation where required
* Responding to queries about employee pay and tax within SLA timeframes
* Identifying system issues and taking appropriate escalation actions
* Using payroll processes and procedures for training, development purposes and highlighting opportunities to improve or update them to the Senior and APM
* Completing daily logs for calls and errors

To be considered for this role you will need to be IPP qualified or equivalent and have SAP experience.
