Job Title: Bookkeeper
Location: Near Tetbury
Duration: Part time temp contract - 20 hours a week (possible opportunity to go perm at a later date) Initially a 3 – 6 month assignment
Salary: c.£12.00 per hour
Purpose of the job:
Provide financial accounting management support. Ensure that all accounting activities are carried out in accordance with the Financial Management Policy and Procedures. Continually review management of accounts and funds to increase opportunities for greater returns and efficiencies.
Key duties are:- Manage invoicing according to procedures.- Accurately account for all income received.- Enter bank credit slips to SAGE and reconcile bank statements.- Manage credit control activity.- Administer invoicing and associated accounting.- Ensure sufficient funds in accounts before releasing payments.- Prepare and process supplier invoices including direct debit and standing order payments.- Prepare and process staff payments (excluding payroll) and associated liabilities to HMRC.- Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns to HMRC.- Move funds between accounts in liaison with Finance Trustee to facilitate payments and maximise interest.- Review cash flow and forecasts and issue reports as required.- Work with Business Manager, Chief Executive and Finance Trustee to issue upcoming year budget and upload to SAGE once approved.- Issue statutory reports as required by regulatory authorities.- Issue monthly accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet, Trial Balance, Nominal Activity Report, Bank Reconciliation) to Business Manager, Chief Executive and Trustees.- Issue Management Account summaries (Board Report), Income and Expenditure against budget and ad hoc reports as requested.- Work with Business Manager, Finance Trustee and auditor to facilitate preparation of annual accounts (year end 31st December).- Undertake preparatory work for audit (January/February).- Attend and contribute to finance section of Finance and Governance Committee meetings.
