My client is a growing accountancy practice that have been operating for over 25 years. They have a positive, professional and friendly approach and provide a tailor-made service to a number of clients, whether it’s a sole-trader or a large corporate business. Due to expansion, they are now looking to employ an experience Accountant to join their firm based in Barnsley.

In this role, you will be providing management accounts and general accounting services to a portfolio of clients so you must have experience working for a practice to be considered for this role.

Role responsibilities:

·Preparation of annual accounts from start to completion for a variety of small and medium sized companies, partnerships and sole traders

·Preparing a variety of tax computations and returns to include corporation tax, VAT and income tax

·Preparation of management accounts, ledger work, processing, bookkeeping

·Advising clients over the phone and in person with specific queries on the above tax and accounts matters

·Liaise with clients in a professional manner and deal quickly and effectively with client queries

·Using IRIS and SAGE accounting software

Person specification:

·Must be qualified (AAT or similar) with a minimum of 12 months practice experience

·Practical hands on accounting experience, including the preparation of management accounts, variance analysis etc

·Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with an ability to liaise with people at all levels

·Organised and methodical with strong numerical abilities

·IT literate with sound knowledge of Microsoft Suite including Excel, Outlook and Word as well as experience using IRIS and SAGE
