Procurement Manager – BuryBlueprint Recruitment are currently working with one of the UK's leading providers of air movement and ventilation solutions who are currently looking to add an experienced Procurement Manager to their already successful team in the Bury area on a permanent contract. You will be responsible for the management of the day to day procurement and buying operations of all aspects of the business in accordance with business processes and protocol.Responsibilities1. Management and ownership of business procurement/buying processes, maintaining and improving where necessary 2. Management, regular monitoring and building relationships with the business supply chain, updating as necessary and maintaining company governance and performance management 3. To agree and secure industry competitive rates with the supply chain, regularly challenging and actively seeking cost reductions (suppliers and subcontractors) 4. Negotiating and procuring project equipment & materials in accordance with the project procurement strategy and budgets 5. Producing and maintaining a business master procurement schedule for major equipment (detailing planned v actual time and cost), to be reviewed monthly with Senior Management 6. Establishing and agreeing project procurement strategies with the project Project Manager 7. Driving project procurement strategies to ensure processes are being adhered to and deadlines/budgets met 8. Analysing business spend profiles and reporting on a monthly basis to Senior Management 9. Placement of fully compliant Purchase Orders protecting the businesses position at all times. 10. Challenging requisitions prior to approval where necessary 11. Providing support to the estimating department to ensure tenders are underpinned with competitive and accurate costs 12. Ensuring business overhead expenditure costs are monitored and reduced by agreed %. 13. Management of buyer, setting objectives/goals in accordance with business requirements 14. Working closely with the business expediter to manage supply chain performance 15. Completing and submitting business monthly reports for HDL and HDL’s parent company 16. Ensuring the procurement module on the business ERP system is being adhered to and maintained, and incorporating processes to work alongside 17. Assessing and scoring supply chain performance 18. Having a strong relationship with the finance department and project teams to ensure goods are being received in the ERP system and recorded accurately 19. Being the gate keeper of business purchasing terms and conditions, including the management of all supplier order acknowledgements 20. Producing Source Selection Plans for suppliers and presenting to key Clients 21. Maintaining regular credit checks and control with suppliers Knowledge, Skills & QualificationsEssential•Will be experienced in purchasing within a construction contracting environment•Demonstrable experience of an ERP system such as Sage or SAP•Demonstrable experience in supply chain management and improvement (subcontractors and suppliers) •Flexible in their approach recognising that the demands and priorities of a dynamic purchasing function may change on a daily basis.•Full driving license Highly Desirable (but not essential)•Procurement related qualification •Construction project experience (based on-site)•International supply chain management / procurement experienceApplyTo learn more about this position or to apply please contact Robert Gilchrist at Blueprint Recruitment Ltd.
