My client based in Cheltenham is looking for a Tax Secretary to support the whole office but mainly working within one department. This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate with the right skill set.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, with a good client facing manner. They should have good time management skills, be able to work to deadlines in a calm, methodical and professional manner, and work on their own initiative when required.

The successful candidate will have a flexible attitude to work in response to changing workloads and deadlines within the teams.

    Client on-boarding, to include preparation and issue of engagement letters, anti-money laundering procedures and data managementResponsibility for monitoring of corporate tax return filing deadlines, including querying Portfolio Managers where filing deadline approaches and ensuring all are filed on timeChecking and filing company tax returnsControlling corporate tax payment reminder process, including quarterly paymentsDealing with corporate tax correspondence from HMRC, preparing responses as necessary in conjunction with Portfolio ManagersPreparation and monthly circulation of personal, partnership and trust tax return progress reportsBooking in client records and querying missing informationPreparation and adjustment of tax return cover letters/e-mails to clientSend periodic tax mailings to clients, including information request letters/e-mails and general correspondenceBooking and coordinating meetings for internal and external parties, including management of tax team and partner diaries as necessaryClient disengagement proceduresProducing PowerPoint and Word presentations and reports using ExcelDrafting, proofreading and formatting large reports and lettersDownloading reports from the internetDealing with telephone enquiriesGeneral team administrative duties as and when requiredRaising invoicesLiaising with accounts teams to aid work flow for the tax teamProvide reception cover when necessary

The Person - Skills & Qualifications

    Proven administrative experience preferably from a professional services backgroundCopy and audio typing skills (60 wpm)Ability to handle large volumes of data, and transfer to mail merged documentsExcellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications including ExcelAble to use initiative and prioritise with exceptional organisational skillsConfident with the ability to stay calm under pressureExcellent written and verbal communicationAble to work alone and as a teamAbility to demonstrate high levels of accuracy and attention to detailExperience of Document Management Systems an advantage but not essential
