Main Purpose
The role is within the London based Finance Department working in the Legal Entity Control team. The team has responsibility for maintaining the accurate accounting books and records for the group's UK based subsidiaries and a selection of overseas entities. The team is also responsible for legal entity board and statutory reporting, and month end reporting to the group team.
The individual will have responsibility for legal entities and assisting other members of the Legal Entity Control team with their work. It is an excellent opportunity for a quick learner who is willing to challenge existing processes.
Responsibilities
  • Review the monthly management accounts for all entities within your area of responsibility, ensuring that the general ledger is accurate and complete and that all analytical reviews and balance sheet reconciliations have been completed and reviewed and review points are addressed
  • Prepare and support the preparation of local GAAP statutory accounts and tax returns for all relevant entities
  • Preparation of board reporting for legal entities as required
  • Liaise with auditors and tax advisors, ensuring the delivery of information to support the preparation of local tax returns and other tax filings as required
  • Preparation of monthly FX exposure forecast for assigned entities
  • Execution of centralised functions such as intercompany invoicing and reconciliation, or specific tasks associated with assigned legal entities
  • Taking a proactive role in improving existing processes
  • Supporting other Financial Control and Reporting initiatives as required
  • Assist with project work as required
Responsibilities
  • Accounting: ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification. Good knowledge of financial accounting, including technical accounting (to include IFRS)
  • Financial Controls: Understanding of controls, with an ability to critically evaluate them within a larger organisation
  • Regulatory: Experience of preparing or reviewing regulatory returns would be advantageous
  • Experience: Experience working in a Financial Accounting or Operational team would be advantageous
  • IT Skills: Must be computer literate with strong excel skills and have the ability to learn new systems. Experience with general ledger systems would be advantageous
  • Risk Awareness: Ability to understand financial risk and use it to influence decisions and critically appraise processes
