Job Title: Financial Accountant Department: Finance Reports to: Finance Specialist About us:Epson Telford Limited was established in 1987, we are on a 50-acre site and operate a 24/7 manufacturing site.We are the only European manufacturing and distribution site for ink cartridges and textile inks. These products are shipped to an Epson warehouse in Germany where they are then distributed throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa.Quality and innovation is at the heart of everything we do, from our Cleanroom environment to our in-house machinery, design and technology improvements from which we use our own Epson 6-axis robots.Salary:Up to £37,000 doeShift:Monday to Thursday to Friday to Additional hours may be required around busy periods, month and year end.Main job functions:
  • Responsible for converting the accounts from the SAP format to the Statutory Accounts format required for UK reporting and the Group format (ECAS) for reporting to EEB and SEC.
  • The jobholder will be required to answer any question asked by SEC, EEB or E&Y Amsterdam, following the transmission of the reporting package
  • Responsible for the preparation of quarterly corporation tax calculation and preparation of the annual tax compliance pack in conjunction with the external tax consultants, E&Y.
  • Responsible for Office of National Statistics reports
  • Responsible for the update of the SEC Global Investment Management System. (Monthly Budget and Forecast)
  • The role will require the job holder to be able to understand, and keep up to date with the UK statutory accounting standards (FRS, SSAP), international standards IFRS, UKGAAP and Epson accounting standards, and be able to apply these to the accounts
  • Responsible for controlling and maintaining the fixed asset register. The jobholder must ensure that all assets are treated in accordance with Financial Reporting Standard 15, and also comply with the Epson Standard Chart of Accounts and Epson Financial Reporting System
  • The jobholder will be responsible for collection, checking and collating capital requirements in the Budgeting and Forecasting Process. Once the Budgets and Forecasts have been completed it will be the jobholder's responsibility to input the information into ECAS for reporting to EEB and SEC
  • Responsible for all aspects of VAT including liaising with the local VAT officer
  • The job holder must achieve all internal and external reporting deadlines
  • Ensuring compliance with and adherence to ETL Quality Management, Environmental Management, Information Security and Health & Safety Policies and Procedures and all statutory legislation associated with these any other duties as requested from time to time
  • Ensure Compliance with SEC J-Sox regime
  • Ensure that all Group reconciliations are accurate and comply with Group Procedures and Policies
  • To ensure all Data and Paperwork is accurate and processed correctly
  • To check one's work and double check the work received from others
  • To ensure compliance and adherence to Epson Telford Limited Quality and Environmental Management and H & S Policies and Procedures and all Statutory Legislation associated with these
Qualifications (essential):
  • CIMA or ACCA qualified for 3+ years relevant work experience
Qualifications (desirable):
  • J-Sox or Sarbanes Oxley Knowledge
Experience required (essential):
  • SAP Knowledge and Experience
  • Excel Advanced Knowledge
Experience required (desirable):
  • A questioning mind and problem solving
Specialist training required:
  • The ability to work as part of a team as well as on their own initiative when the situation demands it
