About our Trust

University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust is a newly formed organisation following a merger between Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (WSHFT) and Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals Trust (BSUH) on 1st April 2021. WSHFT and BSUH have been working in partnership with a shared leadership team for four years leading up to the recent merger. WSHFT became the first non-specialist acute hospital trust to be awarded Outstanding in all of the CQC's key inspection areas and BSUH became the fastest improving acute hospital trust in England and was rated Good overall and Outstanding for caring by the CQC. The merger was a technical but important process for both WSHFT and BSUH which will ensure that the right leadership, structures, and governance are in place. About this vacancy

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent position as an Audit Manager within Abdominal Surgery and Medicine Directorate.

We are looking for a highly motivated, forward thinking individual who will lead on the collation and submission of University Hospitals Sussex East national audits: the National Bowel Cancer Audit (NBOCA), the National Oesophago-Gastric Cancer Audit (NOGCA), the National Joint Advisory Group Endoscopy Audit (JAG) and the National Emergency Laparotomy Audit (NELA).

The post holder will also be responsible for administering the Abdominal Surgery and Medicine (ASM) Clinical Governance Programme and supporting the multidisciplinary team.

In January 2019, The Care Quality Commission (CQC) published its report following its recent inspection of Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals (BSUH). This showed a significant improvement in our rating to the second-highest possible: 'Good'. It also rated the Trust as 'Outstanding' for caring.
