Job Title: Group Technical AccountantBase location: HookSalary: Up to £80,000As a global FTSE 250 company with over 500 contracts across 20 countries we rely on the support of our Finance Services Team to keep the business running smoothly and efficiently. As our new Technical Accountant, you will join the high-profile Serco Reporting Team, which is responsible for consolidating and reporting the results of the Group's global operations. This includes the production of all External Reporting and analysis to Executive Management and the Board. This role will be central to understanding the impact of accounting standards on the Group's accounting policies, assessing the impact of changes to either accounting standards or the Group's operations, and acting as a reference point for technical queries.In this high-profile position, we'll be looking for you to use your expertise to maintain the Group's accounting manual, including periodic reviews of ongoing applicability and the impact of new or amended accounting standards. Assist with analysis required by finance stakeholders, Executive Board Members and other Senior Management Stakeholders and Provide divisional finance teams with technical accounting support and advice.In return we can offer a supportive and collaborative environment that respects work/life balance and ultimately contributes to the delivery of vital public services in the UK.What you'll need to do the roleFirstly, you'll need to be a qualified accountant with demonstrable post qualification experience.You'llneedstrong financial reporting and technical accounting skills (IFRS), ideally with proven experience of listed plc reporting either from practice or another role in industry.You'll be a strong team player who can demonstrate a proactive approach to problem solving with good communication skills to build divisional relationships.Lastly, experience of working with SAP BPC consolidation software would be benificial.
