Our partner provides support and information to people affected by encephalitis, an inflammation of the brain, as well as to medical professionals. They raise awareness of encephalitis and collaborate on research into the condition.

They are looking for a Treasurer who will oversee the financial matters of the charity, and report to the Board of Trustees at regular intervals about the financial health of the organisation. They will ensure that effective financial measures, controls and procedures are put in place, and are appropriate for the charity.

As Treasurer, the successful candidate will use their skills and experience to shape the organisations financial systems and reporting alongside their governance, contributing to their strategic future and acting as an ambassador for all aspects of their work.

There is no need to have previous Trustee experience, but a keen desire to support their work is essential. They expect the candidate to hold (or to have held) a senior finance position.

The organisation holds board meetings four times a year (a mix of weekend and evenings), with two taking place in-person (1 in North Yorkshire and 1 in London). Trustees are also expected to engage with the work of the charity from time-to-time.

Please note that this is a volunteer role and there is therefore no remuneration.
