What is Tax Associate at EY Frank Hirth?
Tax affects every aspect of our lives and laws are always changing. We help our clients in the UK and the US with their personal and corporate tax returns, calculate liabilities, and advice on tax payments. You'll work closely with colleagues across borders, using EY tools and networks to solve complex business and tax problems. By combining the power of EY's tax experience with innovative technology, you can help us transform the tax function of the future.

What will you be doing?
Working within EY Frank Hirth you'll support our clients with complex tax needs as well as the following:
  • Specialising in either UK Tax or a dual handler (UK/US Tax) role depending on your preference
  • In your specialist area, working with start-up companies, large corporations and high-profile individuals
  • Receiving on-the-job learning, working closely with other tax assistants and tax managers
  • Gaining practical experience in different areas of tax through complex client work.
Once you join us, we'll provide you with a with an extensive induction plan during your first six weeks, continuous training, team building exercises, a careers counsellor and a network of mentors who will help you to reach your potential. You'll also have the opportunity to study for a professional qualification and work with local and international clients on their complex tax needs.
You'll also specialise in either UK Tax or a dual handler (UK/US Tax) role depending on your preference.
Year 1: Complete tax compliance work, prepare tax returns and develop your experience and knowledge through on-the-job structured training in a supportive team.
Year 2: Continue to develop commercial awareness, work with budgets and liaise with clients and government departments.
Year 3: Have a deep understanding of UK or UK/US Tax to lead tax returns, identify issues, create innovative solutions and coach new joiners.

Entry requirements
We operate an open access policy, meaning we don't screen out applications on your academic performance alone. You will, however, need to be working towards an Honours degree in any subject - some programmes will require a subject relevant to the business area - have a minimum of grade 4/C GCSE (or equivalent) in English Language and Maths, and three A-levels or five Highers (or equivalent) to be eligible to apply.
