The position of Business Analyst forms a part of the Jobs Victoria branch within the Employment and Inclusion branch. Jobs Victoria helps Victorians find their way back to work and businesses find the people they need. Jobs Victoria will do this by creating an integrated system to assist jobseekers and employers by bringing together employment support, job creation, employer engagement, digital and phone services for Victorians in one place. We are supported by dynamic online data-driven platforms which will drive connections and performance across the employment system.

As the Business Analyst, you'll be part of an energetic Technology and Insights team focused on developing innovative digital tools to help the team helping Victorians, including people who have lost their jobs due to the economic impacts of COVID19, find work.

The Business Analyst reports to the Manager, Business Process Improvement, and is responsible for evaluating and understanding processes and requirements for the Jobs Victoria project. Key to this role will be the demonstrated experience to analyse and distil information and define opportunities for improvement to the operations and digital product interfaces.

Key accountabilities:
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, providing relevant information and advice to ensure appropriate solutions are delivered.
  • Contribute to the implementation of key projects including Jobs Victoria Programs, developing solutions, monitoring performance against objectives, managing risks and issues, and participating in evaluation to ensure objectives and outcomes are delivered on time.
  • Work with the leadership team to support continuous business process improvement initiatives, implementing change and monitoring progress to ensure the success of key projects.

  • To be successful in this role you will have a background as a business analyst within a digital / IT systems context, demonstrating dedication towards continuous business process improvement. The position requires exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking and a demonstrated ability to communicate and influence stakeholders as well as working closely with them to determine solutions within a complex working environment. Most importantly you will be excited by a role that will be instrumental in helping to build a stronger, fairer and more inclusive Victoria and how we can best set the Group up for success.
