Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with senior management across the organization;
  • Foreign exchange risk management and development of foreign exchange risk mitigation strategies;
  • Drive and improve the organization’s bank relationships and liquidity management;
  • Interest rate risk management and development of risk mitigation strategies;
  • Examining various frameworks and risks and reporting to senior management;
  • Day-to-day cash and debt facilities management;
  • Preparation of daily, weekly, monthly and annual cash projections, both fixed and rolling and for other periods as required from time to time;
  • Track actual cash balances against projections and report on variances including presenting plans for recovery where necessary;
  • Ensure cash flow is appropriate for the organization’s operations;
  • Controlling foreign currency exposure and foreign currency payments including foreign currency payments made by the Exim Bank on behalf of the company;
  • Monitor collections from Commercial teams and follow up with Commercial Director and Sales teams on overdue balances;
  • Monitor payments to vendors and ensure tight management of these payments to maximize the company’s cash position while not compromising relationships;
  • Prepare papers for presentation at monthly board of directors meetings;
  • Ensure ALL statutory commitments are paid on time;
  • Ensure all loan commitments are serviced and paid on time including intercompany loans;
  • Manage the Treasury department including the delivery of all tasks on time and in full, completion of all appraisals as required by company policy and management and reporting of all leave taken by the department;

 

Requirements:

  • ACCA qualified with a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited university would be an asset;
  • 8 – 10 years’ treasury experience with a minimum of 4 years at a supervisory/managerial level;
  • Comprehensive and extensive experience of treasury accounting including FX, liquidity, cashflow and various financial instruments;
  • Knowledge of cash management principles;
  • Knowledge of banking relationships and covenants;
  • Knowledge of banking systems and processes;
  • Capability to work autonomously and be part of the broader team;
  • Team player with the potential to communicate and coordinate with several parties;
  • A high level of attention to detail;
  • Financial risk management experience will be an asset.
