Owens & Minor have an opportunity available for a Finance Analyst, reporting to the Financial Accounting Manager (MUK), the role will support the Accounting Team in the accurate and timely reporting of the monthly and annual results for Movianto Transport Solutions (“MTS”) and other business units as assigned, to Group, and the meeting of all external reporting deadlines (Statutory Accounts, Corporation Tax etc.). Duties and Responsibilities: Assist the all aspects of the timely and accurate preparation of all monthly and annual financial reporting, for MTS, ensuring compliance with Group Policy and the specified SOX environment Ensure accurate management reporting through the capture and recording of all trading transactions, related accruals and prepayments; posting of payroll journals and reconciliation of related control accounts Full balance sheet control and reconciliation thereof - preparing accurate monthly reconciliations, for all MTS balance sheet accounts Timely corporation tax analysis, for preparation of tax computations and completion of annual tax packs Providing support to the Financial Accounting Manager-MUK, as required. Establish individual priorities and support team members to ensure accurate and timely delivery against work load deadlines and targets Work with key stakeholders and departments to deliver appropriate levels of support Communicates progress against deliverables and any project deadlines to manager Support the wider team to maximize efficiency and effectiveness of processes Help manage cross-functional links to other finance teams (Group / Finance Operations) Adheres to management reporting deadlines to ensure overall effectiveness Manages delivery against individual objectives and assigned projects and supports the delivery of team objectives Manages delivery against individual objectives and assigned projects and supports the delivery of team objectives Other Ad-hoc Reporting as and when required Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor's Degree. Studying toward an Accounting qualification Desired Qualifications: Knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS Experience with Oracle (local ledger system) and Hyperion (Future Group Reporting Tool) Advanced level Excel skills Proficiency in a second European language is desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Proven ability to deal with large volumes of data Possess good Excel skills Proficiency with financial Systems Effective verbal and written communication skills Capable of analysing departmental financial data. Excellent interpersonal skills Demonstrate ethical behaviour and discretion with sensitive and confidential information. Pro-active outlook to identify, prioritise and implement actions required to achieve Departmental goals Ability to collaborate with others, acting in an objective manner to achieve common aims. Knowledge of business mathematics (percentages, weighted averages etc.) Key Competencies: Strong problem solving skills including the ability to identify and prevent potential problems, as well as challenge and improve existing processes Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy and excellent organisational and communication skills.
