Group Financial Control Manager

Our client, based in Wiltshire, has a vacancy for a Group Financial Control Manager to sit in the Group Accounting Function. The finance team manages and balances complex budgets across the globe assisting multiple regions, multiple categories and covering all aspects of the finance cycle.

Description

The Group Financial Control Manager reports to the Head of Accounting and ensures strong accounting and reporting throughout the group, including overseeing and monitoring an effective control environment. The Controller will work in the Group Accounting Team and create and implements policies and procedures to identify, resolve and document accounting issues in addition to creating procedures to make the close and reporting processes more efficient and accurate.

Key responsibilities are to:

Own and maintain key accounting and control documents:

• Dyson's Chart of Accounts and accompanying definition manual
• Delegated Authority Matrix
• Financial Control Self-Assessment process
• Steward Financial Data policies and controls
• Group cost centre governance (ownership remaining with SMEs)
• SAP Access Control governance

Monitor compliance

• Develop compliance processes to ensure adherence to above policies
• Ensuring correct system application of accounting principles
• Identifying and addressing legacy accounting issues

Support Audit Committee Key Topics

• Ensure timely and complete follow up and resolution of finance-related audit committee points
• Follow up of open internal audit actions across global finance to ensure timely completion

Support Group Accounting Team with other related activities as and when required

• E.g. specific year end activities
• E.g. accounting policy changes

Profile

• Strong financial, accounting and managerial skills
• Governance mind set
• Strong ability to implement and monitor internal controls
• Creative reporting capability
• Good communicator, planner and organiser
• Effective project management skills
• CPA (K), CIMA, ACCA, or ACA
• 5+ years' post qualification experience in a senior accounting role
