Summary
The University Business Solutions department at Barry University seeks a full time Workday Finance Analyst.
This is a professional level role that, under general supervision, works with functional leads to develop and implement solutions to our Workday Modules (FDM) to ensure that they meet campus business requirements. This selected candidate will have an in-depth understanding of the technical architecture of Workday (Financials) and the ability to use a variety of complex techniques and tools to achieve the desired application functionality. Provides on-going support for and maintenance of these critical enterprise-wide production systems.
Essential Functions
Responsible for all aspects of the software maintenance, administration and development lifecycle in support of the University's Enterprise Applications:
Identifies system inefficiencies and recommends effective solutions. Interacts with functional staff and campus community to troubleshoot issues and design and implement resolutions:
Will be responsible for testing and planning of Workday quarterly releases:
Provide Finance Training:
Performs additional duties and responsibilities as needed.

Essential Functions
Responsible for all aspects of the software maintenance, administration and development lifecycle in support of the University's Enterprise Applications:
- Serving as a liaison between Business and Finance and DoIT to provide systems support and analysis and to leverage technology solutions to meet the needs of the Finance and all associated information system users.
- Lead process and strategy improvements for procurement, expenses, payment of goods, services, and supplier contracts.
- Lead continuous improvement cycles of existing and new business processes for Finance
- Creating global reports and dashboards on weekly, quarterly, annually and on an ad-hoc basis to include turnover, terminations, active employees, cost center, P2P, and Expenses.
- Developing Workday integrations by utilizing Cloud Connects, Document Transformations, Enterprise Interface Builders, and Workday Studio for various functional areas including Financials, Budget, & P2P
- Work with functional leads to create functional requirements and assist business analyst with configuration activities.
Identifies system inefficiencies and recommends effective solutions. Interacts with functional staff and campus community to troubleshoot issues and design and implement resolutions:
- Review business processes and advise clients on system services available within the Workday application(Finance); identify and communicate findings to senior management and client personnel.
- Updates system configuration and business processes to meet the needs of Finance
- Create Matrix/Composite Reports and accurately analyze financial data (payroll, budget, expenses).
- Responsible for the configuration, documentation, and management of all FDM technical processes.
- Manage the delivery of projects in collaboration with the IT Project Manager via technical resources and internal Business and Financial Leads
- Troubleshoot, analyze, and corrects technical problems and deficiencies
- Monitor quality control of HR and Financial systems by conducting system audits
- Assists Finance Department staff with technical issues related to the use of Workday.
Will be responsible for testing and planning of Workday quarterly releases:
- Works with and collaborates with Finance functional areas for Workday testing of new releases. This includes all areas under Finance (General Ledger, Expense, AP, P2P, etc.).
- Develop testing guidelines
- Works with functional areas to keep Finance updated on system enhancements and changes
- Assists in determining what changes need to be made to the customizations previously developed by Finance.
- Coordinate testing efforts and maintain and issue log for Finance.
Provide Finance Training:
- Keeps up-to-date on Finance Workday related system enhancements and attends trainings and webinars to acquire additional knowledge.
- Develops training curriculum and conducts formal and informal training sessions regarding Finance Systems.
- Create Job Aids for Workday that cover new and existing Finance functionality.
Performs additional duties and responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field is required. A Master's degree in Computer Science, MIS or related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 2 (two) years of experience with building integrations and using integration tools and business analysis experience .
- Demonstrated proficiency in Workday Financials (FDM)
2) In-depth system knowledge and demonstrated experience with architecture design, technical infrastructure/architecture and applied design principles
3) Experience working with customers to solve problems, provide guidance, and enhance their ability to use functional modules in Workday
4) Excellent verbal and written skills
5) Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
6) Ability to manage project related tasks and provide regular updates
7) Ability to assess risks and provide recommendations
