DESCRIPTION
Do you want to take an active role in shaping the future of movies, television and digital video? Do you want to define the next generation of how and what Amazon customers are watching? Prime Video is changing the way customers around the world consume video entertainment by offering - in every country - the broadest selection of premium video within a single experience, accessible across all devices. Compliance, Trust and Safety is dedicated in ensuring that Prime Video is a place for viewers and creators around the world to belong, create, and express themselves. Whether understanding and solving their online content concerns, navigating within global legal frameworks, or applying worldwide policy, the Compliance team is on the front lines of enhancing the PV experience and protecting our customers in our ever-evolving digital world.
We are looking for a Business Analyst to proactively facilitate analysis to identify opportunities, analyze, visualize, and deliver insights to help better serve our customers. Our ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, relishes working with cross-functional teams, is clear in communication and comfortable with ambiguity, has strong attention to detail, and above all else, is a customer-obsessed self-starter. In this role, you will be expected to work with business leaders to understand the problems they need to solve and design the appropriate solution. You will partner with engineering teams to collect new data in order to produce 360 degree views of our business, analyze the results, and form strategic opinions. Often times, the ideal set of data will not be available and you'll have to think creatively about what is available and what you can do in order to drive results. You will thoroughly understand available data sets, and be able to extract data from a variety of data sources, including relational databases, Redshift clusters and Data Lakes. You will create data reports, author research papers, and publish this work to educate and influence decisions makers, adhering to tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
• Working with business and tech stakeholders to understand requirements and effectively prioritize projects
• Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc.
• Build scalable solutions/self-serve platforms that will provide data/KPIs to inform business decision making
• Identifying key data for a particular project across a variety of data stores and efficiently extracting and processing it
• Define the data elements and data structure that our team should leverage to enable analytical and reporting capabilities for our program and operation teams
• Design and influence operational best practices for reporting and analytics to enable the team to scale as we grow presence in new and existing territories
• Preparing and delivering business reviews to the senior management team regarding progress and roadblocks
• Enable effective decision making by retrieving and aggregating data from multiple sources and compiling it into a digestible and actionable format
• Developing and managing milestones across projects to ensure timely and successful deliverables.
• Contributing to the development of a production-level code base (in python/R) to implement scalable statistical analyses
• Collaborating with data engineers and business intelligence engineers from multiple Prime Video teams to effectively leverage such resources
• Continually improve our self-service analytics by automating or simplifying reporting processes to help teams make data driven decisions
• Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
• 2+ years of experience with business intelligence and data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau)
• 2+ years of experience with a modern programming language (e.g., Ruby, Python, etc.)
• Advance SQL proficiency - experience writing complex SQL statements and ability to manipulate a massive amount of data, creating dashboards/on demand reports
• Excellent written and communication skills
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics or related field
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience in AWS Technologies (Redshift, EMR, S3, etc).
• Experience with statistical analysis using Python, R, or SAS
• Experience with consumer research or marketing performance analysis.
• Knowledge of data warehousing and data modeling concepts.
• Experience in video entertainment, TV, or mobile apps and gaming
• Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics or related field
