About Internal Audit Function

The Internal Audit function of AMP Limited and its Subsidiaries (AMP) provides independent, objective assurance services to assist AMP accomplish its objectives.

Internal Audit's Purpose in AMP is to be a catalyst for improvement in the governance, risk management and control environment, providing assurance to key stakeholders and the audit committee. Our vision is to provide relevant, timely insights using a collaborative approach, focusing on the 4 Ps People, Process, Performance and Partnership.

About the Role

Functionally reporting to the Portfolio Audit Manager, your role with AMP Internal Audit will involve participating and bringing your audit analytics expertise to execute technology and business audits, regulatory compliance reviews, project assurance reviews and targeted/thematic risk reviews across all portfolios. You will have exposure across all AMP businesses and support areas including, AMP Wealth Management, AMP Bank, AMP NZ Wealth Management, Superannuation Trustee, Data Privacy/Governance, Finance, Third Party Management and Enterprise Risk Management. In this role, you will contribute to the broader AMP Transformation by supporting management requests for third line assurance and providing valuable risk insights in a pragmatic and commercial manner.

You will enjoy working within an energetic and high performing team that has exposure across the entire AMP group and has access to all levels of management and the Board. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to new and innovate ways for working outside traditional audit approaches in order to:
  • support the Internal Audit team achieve its vision, strategy and annual audit plan
  • provide independent, objective and insightful assurance over key areas of risk (strategic, operational, product and insurance and financial)
  • adopt a continuous improvement (learning) and commercial mindset in all interactions
  • help make Internal Audit the place to work within AMP.

In order to provide assurance that is insightful (help that is expert), relevant and commercial (help that is proactive and pragmatic), the main focus areas for this role are as follows:

A udit Delivery
  • Execute and assist in delivering internal audits, in accordance with the IA vision and strategic objective of "providing relevant, timely and insightful advice using a collaborative approach to help AMP achieve its objectives"
  • Participate in engagement planning - assist in identifying business risks developing audit scope
  • Deliver consistently high-quality audit work that meets the requirements of AMP's Internal Audit Methodology
  • Analyse audit observations including risk impact and root cause
  • Prepare quality work papers supported by appropriate evidence and testing
  • Present audit results to internal and business stakeholders
  • Work with the Portfolio Audit Managers to manage the audit portfolio, including issues validation

Stakeholder Engagement
  • Build and maintain the IA Brand in all interactions through adopting a positive, professional, and collaborative mindset
  • Proactively establish and maintain effective, constructive and professional relationships
  • Understand the business drivers, risks / opportunities and economic / regulatory environment
  • Provide credible advice based on strong business insights and risk management assurance in all interactions
  • Build external networks with audit professionals in the industry to understand and translate better practices into AMP

What we look for in you:
  • Graduate qualifications ideally with a post graduate qualification
  • Valued qualifications/memberships: IIA Graduate Certificate in Internal Auditing / CIA, CISA, CPA, CA
  • Data analytics for assurance including use of data analytics tools, e.g. ACL, Alteryx, Tableau, MS Power BI, etc
  • At least 3 years of internal audit / assurance / consulting experience with a proven capability around adding value and insights using integrated auditing and data analytics
  • Valued experience includes financial services assurance, tier 1 assurance firm experience
  • Knowledge of IT risk frameworks: COBIT
  • Experience of preparing and/or reviewing control assurance reports such as GS007, SOC1, SOC2
  • Knowledge of APRA standards (i.e. CPS 234 - Information Security and related data privacy regulations, CPS/SPS 231 - Outsourcing, CPS/SPS 232 - Business Continuity, SPS/CPS 220 - Risk Management)
  • Understanding of the Australian Financial Services Industry and its regulatory regime
