This is an interim role that will be managing all of the group statutory reporting for subsidiaries in-house and via external outsourcing. This will also be supporting the delivery of the Annual Report, audit and accounts as the business builds up to year end.

Description

The main responsibilities within this role are:

  • Managing the delivery of statutory accounts for all subsidiary entities to ensure that the process satisfies the requirements of all internal and external parties and deadlines and supporting the delivery of Group Annual Report and Accounts
  • Supporting the management of the relationship with external auditors to ensure aligned timescales, planning and objectives at HQ and around the regions. Managing audits of group subsidiaries where required. Ensuring costs and resources are held to budget levels.
  • Assisting with the preparation of the monthly board reporting pack
  • Working with the Finance Systems Analyst to help drive improved systems, processes, month end reconciliations and reporting for the finance team so driving efficiency and overhead reduction targets
  • Reviewing, developing and improving on the controls framework ensuring control weaknesses are identified and improvements deployed
  • Recommending enhancements to accounting policies and technical standards to drive improvement to current and future ways of working in line with agreed outcomes
  • Being proactive in considering the impact on the group of new accounting standards and helping develop a planned implementation to meet reporting deadlines at Group level and in the regions
  • Driving compliance of the Group Accounting Manual across the regions with maintenance processes to ensure all chapters are up to date and relevant. Leading the annual roll out to the finance teams
  • Delivering all other external reporting as required
  • Ad-hoc project work as directed by the direct line manager or the finance transformation team including support for IFRS reporting

Profile

The successful candidate for this position will have:

  • A professional accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA). Around 4 years of post-qualified experience would best fit the needs of the role.
  • Experience of financial accounting in practice and ideally in an international organisation, managing audits, preparing group accounts. A good knowledge of tax would be beneficial.
  • Ability to produce a full set of accounts to expected levels of technical competence and stand up to scrutiny from external auditors
  • Ability to apply technical knowledge to "every-day" issues
  • Good knowledge of finance structure; both commercially and from a legal/statutory perspective
  • Ability to apply sound judgement to accounting situations/questions
  • Strong understanding of SAP Financials and associated reporting structures and hierarchies
  • Experience of a challenging environment and potential conflicts to drive cross-group compliance.
  • Highest standards of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills and commercial acumen
  • Experience at communicating and working with Senior Management
  • A well organised and structured method of working
