Apprentices undertake training both on and off the job to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours defined in the chosen apprenticeship standard. All apprentices must evidence a minimum of 20% off-the-job training in order to meet the requirements of the programme. Off-the-job training can include a range of methods such as online learning, shadowing and attending structured training sessions facilitated by the third party Training Provider. Apprentices will receive support throughout the duration of the apprenticeship from both BNY Mellon and the Training Provider, progress will be monitored and assessed and apprentices will be expected, along with their line manager to attend regular review sessions with the training provider. At the end of the training period, the Training Provider and BNY Mellon Line Manager will confirm they are satisfied the apprentice is consistently working at, or above, the level of the apprenticeship standard. The apprentice will then proceed to take an end-point assessment managed by an independent assessor. The IT and digital end-point assessments vary dependent upon the apprenticeship standard, but typically could include the collection of key pieces of work in a portfolio, an employer's reference, a project, a series of assessments, case studies and an interview with the assessor. At the end of this process the apprentice is graded. Our programme covers key IT and digital apprenticeship roles at Levels 3 (equivalent to gaining two A Level passes) and 4 (equivalent to gaining an NVQ Level 4, HND, or foundation degree), including: Infrastructure Software Digital Cyber security Information systems analysis Dependant on the Apprenticeship standard tasks include: Personal development and evidence pack to be created and maintained.
