This is a rare chance for a high quality and dynamic finance leader to join an organisation at the cutting edge of a sector which is going through considerable change. As FD you will have a real opportunity to shape and drive the organisation as we enter the next stage of our development.
Excelcare are family owned and operate 32 homes in the South East, a Domiciliary Care Division and Social Accommodation, with a T/O of £90m and growing. We are a progressive care home provider with a clear vision, strong leadership and ambitious growth plans.
The successful candidate will be:
A qualified accountant with experience as the Finance Director of a large, multi-faceted business, with extensive experience in the private social care sector
Someone with real leadership qualities who will lead the finance function, ensuring all financial and reporting obligations are met, and that the team are engaged, motivated and being developed so that finance continues to act as a partner to the wider business.
Responsible for all aspects of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, taxation, cost control, debt management, capital expenditure appraisal, equity variation, bank re-finance, acquisitions and joint ventures.
Able to demonstrate first class people and organisational skills, win support for ideas internally and externally and utilise people resources effectively in the implementation of strategies and plans.
Self-assured, self-aware and emotionally mature and possess first class communication skills, with the credibility and track record to gain the trust and respect of senior colleagues & lenders.
Able to demonstrate highly developed commercial understanding and expertise, ensuring that the organisation is able to pursue its new business ambitions while operating as a financially strong entity with sustained long term capacity.
Have the skillset to create new models of services along with supporting commercial negotiations to ensure that we make robust and appropriately risk-assessed deals with key partners.

Person specification
- An FCCA equivalent qualified accountant
- Strong experience of care strategy models
- Strong evidence of well-developed commercial acumen, and success
- A proven ability to drive innovation and deliver transformational change
- Very strong negotiation and influencing skills
- Ability to deliver through others and ensure strong buy-in to concepts and ideas
- Leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate people
- Very strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
