This role is located within the Rates and Currencies In-Business Risk team that forms part of the wider Business Management function. The team provides focused first line of defence business supervision and control for the Global Rates and Currencies Sales and Trading business, which spans over 70 countries. The role reports into a local manager in Belfast with direct access to Managing Director level senior management located in London. This role will provide increased exposure for the confident and capable candidate. This role will primarily be responsible for a number of business risk responsibilities focusing on Credit and Market Risk. The Business Analyst will assist in and in some cases drive the preparation of analysis for senior audiences, working with Technologists to evolve the monitoring and control framework.

Responsibilities:
  • Business Administration
  • Create & Provide effective controls related metrics to stakeholders and senior management teams.
  • Provide to desk heads and other senior front office management SME support related to the correct reporting of.
  • Liaison with support functions including 2nd line of defence functions e.g. credit risk, market risk, and business
  • partners e.g. operations, finance and technology.
  • Other ad hoc administration tasks that support the activities of the business including PowerPoint presentations andexcel analysis.
  • Query databases to produce reports.


Control & Regulatory Focus:
  • Delivery of quality business MI that is of sufficient standard and robustness to be shared with regulatory bodies.
  • Exposure to regulatory issues and will take part in the remediation should this be required.


Business Governance:
  • Preparation of meeting materials for senior business forums and ensuring minutes are accurately recorded and
  • tracking follow-up items. Where necessary providing explanation of the underlying causes leading to variances in the data.
  • Seek out sources for, track, consolidate and analyse ad-hoc and regular business requests underpinned by data.


Business Development & Project Management:
  • Assist in the designing of new technology to support business processes.
  • Driving implementation working closely with relevant seniors.
  • Opportunity to grow project management experience is available.


Business & Communication:
  • Become a trusted partner capable of sharing expertise and knowledge.
  • The role will allow the building of relationships across the global Rates and Currencies business.
  • Co-ordinate and participate actively in all relevant business initiatives as required.
  • Foster excellent relationships between the businesses and various support functions.
  • Communicate (written and oral) information within and between the businesses and support functions.
  • Communicate effectively within the business management teams locally and globally.
  • Communicate effectively within the wider global management teams.


Qualifications:
  • 2-3 years of business analysis experience required
  • Experience with data visualisation tools e.g. Qliikview or Business Insights, some experience of scripting would be an advantage.
  • Analysis of data and production of MI.
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.


Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree/University degree or equivalent experience
