We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our Finance team as a Legal Entity Financial Controller, on 6 Months Fixed Term Contract basis.

Please note: This is predominantly home based opportunity, however it may require occasional travel to our head office in Bromley.

The Role:

Working as part of the senior Finance team to drive delivery and embedding of new operation decision and future shared service operating model.

You will have full end to end ownership and responsibility for all Financial Control deliverables across Reporting, Reconciliations and Substantiation, FRCF Control Framework, inbound change and strategy. This covers all aspects, including but not limited to coordination and planning, delivery, partner and team management.

What you'll be doing:

Being responsible for all monthly and quarterly financial reporting ensuring all results are met and engaging partners with high level communications.

Ownership and delivery of all statutory and regulatory reporting requirements for the Group.

Reviewing, communicating and driving resolution of all key Balance Sheet risks and issues.

Partnering with the External Reporting team to deliver a coordinated, timely Year End audit process.

Build and report tangible monthly MI to demonstrate the outputs of the team and highlight any resource challenges or capacity.

Having a forward thinking and innovative approach to change management and operational improvement including working closely with various project teams across finance.

Being aware of, supervising, and aligning with the rules, requirements and of the PRA and other legal/regulatory/ risk management framework and ensuring fully compliancy including adhering to DL Minimum Standard Framework.

Defining and ensuring development of full documentation requirements of business processes following engagement and in conjunction with EXL and internal parties such as 1LOD, Risk and Audit. Ensuring control environment is adequately supported in line with Risk appetite

Direct line management of onshore Senior Finance Managers as well as oversight of team of Finance Managers and EXL team performance.

Effective mentoring and development of team members, and build a strong person oriented and robust culture, which supports both functional and people development objectives.

Responsible for managing staff performance including holding performance reviews, identifying training needs and agreeing personal development plans.

What we are looking for:
  • Professionally qualified accountant and/or qualified by experience.
  • Experienced in leading a medium sized team within a financial services organisation.
  • Ability to build relationships & communicate effectively at all levels across multiple offices, build trust and influence partners.
  • Ability to mentor and guide Team members, focussing on the individual's personal development and their capability to work with our offshore partner.
  • Working knowledge of insurance accounting principles and strong reconciliation experience.
  • The ability to implement financial controls evidenced through the presence of robust processes and procedures
