Group Financial Accountant - Belfast - £40,000

Clemence Rogers are currently recruiting for a Group Financial Accountant to join an established group business based in Belfast.

Key Responsibilities of a Group Financial Accountant:

• Book-keeping function for all companies held within Head Office (7 companies);

• Preparation of monthly Management Accounts for all Head Office companies, including timely preparation and compilation of relevant documentation for review;

• P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash-flow forecasting on a monthly basis for all companies;

• Maintenance of all balance sheet accounts including fixed assets, accruals and prepayments and ensuring adequate reconciliations and cut-offs are in place at month-end to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of data;

• Preparation of quarterly VAT returns for all Head Office companies including ensuring appropriate reconciliations are performed and maintained;

• Preparing and monitoring financing requirements for all companies within the group;

Treasury management;

• Preparation of annual budgets for the companies that they have direct responsibility for and incorporation of all group companies within the group budget;

• Assist the Group Financial Controller with management of Group Audit process;

• Preparation of year-end Accounts/Audit Packs;

• Liaison with external auditors.

• Preparation of statutory accounts;

• Maintenance of the Head Office Fixed Asset Register;

• Raising of regular and ad hoc recharges to inter-company sites, including liaison with relevant personnel;

• Preparation and posting of relevant journals;

• Periodic bank account reconciliations;

• Ad hoc project analysis, and maintenance of relevant documentation, where required;

• Analysis at Group level and appropriate reporting thereon.

Ideal Candidate for the Group Financial Accountant:

• Educated to degree level;

• Recognised professional accountancy qualification;

• Excellent understanding of accounting processes and the need for appropriate controls;

• Strong attention to detail;

• Proven ability to deliver high quality work within strict time frames;

• Proven ability to prepare monthly management accounts;

• Knowledge of Accounting ledger systems - preferably experience of Sage;

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills;

• Flexible in adapting to varied workloads;

• Professional conduct & attitude;

• Ability to work on own initiative;

• Willingness to take on new tasks and challenges;

• Knowledge of IFRS;

• Excellent planning and organisational skills.
