The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists within Findex for an Accountant in our Business Advisory team. Based in our Syndey office, you will work alongside highly experienced advisors to assist them in providing business advisory and accounting advice to clients.

You will have the support and infrastructure of a well-established team and business to allow you to focus on helping your clients achieve their dreams and goals.
Responsibilities include producing compliance documents, preparation of tax returns, financial statements, reconciliations and work papers within agreed timeframes. The successful applicant must ensure work is completed in line with industry legislation and regulations as well as Group policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Work in close collaboration with senior members of the business advisory team and other leaders of the firm
  • Assist in preparing business advice and/or tax returns, business advice statements, financial statements and reconciliations for companies, partnerships, trusts and a range of individual businesses
  • Work on business advisory projects such as: budgets and cashflows, KPI dashboards and management reporting, our virtual CFO offering, developing business plans, cloud accounting advisory, etc
  • Utilise your strong Excel skills and practical experience with cloud accounting products (i.e., Xero, QBO, Xero, MYOB) including payroll
  • Ensure jobs are completed effectively by meeting technical standards and deadlines, within budget
  • Attend client meetings with senior members of the team
  • Be entrusted with direct client contact
  • Liaise with other Government bodies on client matters


Key Skills to be successful
  • A minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience, preferably in a Public Practice Accounting environment but commercial background will also be considered
  • Accounting (or related) degree
  • Commenced or looking to start CA or CPA qualifications
  • Excellent relationship and stakeholder management skills
  • In-depth analytical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
