Position Summary:
Replacement for a maternity leave cover, this is an exciting time to join the Royal Caribbean Group within the finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager ANZ, the role is responsible and accountable for the provision of accurate, reliable and timely financial information for the Australian and New Zealand business. This role will provide financial support and information to satisfy regulatory, statutory and internal reporting requirements in addition, the Financial Accountant will be responsible for tax & initiatives whilst overseeing AP/AR and supporting effective & best practice financial control processes

Position Summary:

This role will provide financial support and information to satisfy regulatory, statutory and internal reporting requirements in addition, the Financial Accountant will be responsible for tax & initiatives whilst overseeing AP/AR and supporting effective & best practice financial control processes
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standard requirements
- Ensure all accounting processes are conducted with integrity and accuracy
- Ensure general compliance with tax laws regulations and all compliance reporting
- Undertake banking and cash management projects and duties as required
- Investigate and implement initiatives that promote accounting process improvement
- Monitor Covid-19 initiatives for businesses and employers and update Finance Manager regularly
- Manage travel industry business support claims and recording keeping
- Track tax payment deferrals and due dates
- Investigate payment plan options with ATO and State revenue departments
- Liaise with international stakeholders
- Ensure that taxation reporting and compliance obligations are met and maintain tax calendar
- Prepare Tax and Payroll Balance sheet reconciliations
- Investigate and resolve reconciling items on bank rec in a timely manner
- Assist Finance manager in maintaining Minimum Control Guidelines for the ANZ office
- Prepare weekly cash flows for funding requests (Treasury)
- Assist with locally paid refunds, AP, Debit Advice preparation, Month End close and payroll processes
- Business case preparation for planned contracted spend
- Assist Finance manager with expat shadow payroll taxation obligations
Job Requirements
Qualifications, Knowledge and skills:
- Min 2 years' experience as a Financial Accountant
- CPA qualified or equivalent of
- Ability to analyse information from different sources
- Taxation knowledge
- Focus on regulatory compliance
- Ability to promote audit awareness
- Report writing
- AP / AR knowledge
- Payroll (Understanding of employer obligations)
- Good communication skills verbal and written
- Advanced Excel ability
- Experience working in a matrix organisation desirable
