Job Description
The primary role of the Group Internal Audit Manager is to assist the Head of Group Assurance Functions and Executive Management to protect the assets, reputation and sustainability of the Group - a key player in the Pension & Insurance financial services industry. This is done by performing an independent audit of the activities performed within the Group's operating entities to determine whether all significant risks are identified and appropriately reported; assessing whether they are adequately controlled; and by challenging Management to improve the effectiveness of governance, risk management and internal controls. This activity will assist the company in ensuring that a robust Internal Audit framework operates effectively across the group.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support the Head of Assurance in creating a robust Third Line of Defence for the company and all of its related entities, providing independent assurance to the Boards of Directors of the Group and the subsidiary companies that key risks are being well managed and that Corporate Governance and business activities are being conducted in a proper and compliant manner across the Group.
• Setting the scope of internal audit work in adherence to audit methodology and procedures, using a risk-based decision as to which areas should be included in the audit plan and frequency, subject to approval by the Group Audit & Risk Committee.
• Assessing the processes followed by the company operating entities' first and second lines of defence, their adequacy and effectiveness and the quality of their work.
• Assessing the design and operating effectiveness of the internal governance structures and processes.
• Assessing the information presented to the Board and Executive
• Responsible for assessing risks of poor customer treatment, giving rise to conduct or reputational risk: whether the design and control of products, services and supporting processes are in line with customer interests and conduct regulation.
• Responsible for assessing the management of financial risks, including capital and liquidity modelling and management.
• Responsible for assessing the design and operating effectiveness of the Group entities' policies, controls and processes and their adherence to all relevant laws and regulations.
• Responsible for providing objective and comprehensive reports to the appropriate governing bodies, including the Group Board Audit & Risk Committee. The audit reports will detail any audit findings and provide recommendations to remediate these.
• Maintain an open, constructive, and co-operative relationship with regulators at all times.
