ENGIE are recruiting for an Assistant Treasury Accountant to be based in Leeds (LS12 1BE). This is a permanent role which involves working full-time hours. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

Purpose of the Job

Working within the Financial Accounts Team, the role will focus on assisting all aspects of Treasury for the Energy Division covering six legal entities.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the day to day operation of the cash facilities and availability including production of accurate short and long term working capital and free cash flow forecasts

Assist with the bank reconciliation process, ensuring reconciling items are maintained, investigated and resolved on a timely basis

Assist optimisation of Finance Costs

Assist with the maintenance of supplier security facilities including cash deposits, parent company guarantees and letters of credit

Support the Treasury accountant with the Receivables Finance facility

Assist in the monthly and quarterly treasury reporting

Keep up to date and accurate records of suppliers and cash deposits

Calculate extended payment terms premia for sales tenders

Assist in balance sheet reconcilations for Treasury related accounts and ensure corrective action is taken on a monthly basis

Contribute to the annual budget and monthly re-forecast

Aid the Financial Accounts team to resolve outstanding cash items, and support the sales ledger administrator in carrying out daily cashflow forecasts

Import and manage general ledger files

Assist the external auditors as requested

Other ad-hoc treasury related tasks and reporting.

Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or finance and / or part qualified accountant or equivalent

Knowledge and skills

Highly numerate with a practical approach to problem solving

Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with senior stakeholders

Ability to report financial issues to a wide ranging audience

Awareness of Treasury related processes and techniques (desirable)

Ability to produce accurate work under tight deadlines

Proficient in MS Office (advanced Excel skills are desirable)


Previous experience of accounting or working within a similar role
