Summary

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the company's financial health. Hands-on operational and strategic role, managing the accounting and financial control functions, and establishing a financial strategy for the profitable long-term growth of the business. Analyzes and setting department budgets, ensures actions are in line with legal requirements, monitors cash flow, drives financial performance, and addresses internal conflict.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports including WIP
  2. Leading the analysis of monthly and quarterly numbers and presenting findings to the Executive Team and/or Board
  3. Providing insights on the financial health of the organization
  4. Managing and coordinating monthly reporting, budgeting, and reforecast processes
  5. Dealing with working capital management and production of cash flow forecasts
  6. Streamlining accounting functions and operations and drive the continuous improvement of end-to-end accounting practices
  7. Developing plans for financial growth and setting effective strategies
  8. Evaluating and managing risk and keeping track of market trends
  9. Looking for cost-reduction opportunities
  10. Meeting with department heads
  11. Coordinating audit processes and acting as the first point of contact for external auditors, banks, sales tax insurance and 401k.
  12. Monitoring internal controls and conducting feasibility studies
  13. Prepare and post monthly accruals, prepayments and similar accounting entries including month end.
  14. Developing relationships with external contacts such as auditors, bank, tax departments, solicitors, and the IRS
  15. Ensuring the business meets all its statutory and compliance obligations, including statutory accounting and tax issues
  16. Supervising, mentoring and training staff
  17. Overseeing annual insurance and administration
  18. State and property tax filings for all states we work in.
  19. Income Corporate tax filings
  20. Monthly union reports.
  21. Annual 5500 filing and reconciliation.

Qualifications Required

  • Master's Degree in Accounting or equivalent
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, CPA)
  • Current member of recognised professional accounting institute (ACCA, CIMA, AICPA)
