Your Opportunity

We are partnered with a well-known, recognisable company who are looking to bring in a talented individual to support them on a national scale.

They have operations in Australia, New Zealand, and Asia, and for the last few decades have steadily grown their business across all locations. They are at the forefront of their industry, and they fully embrace new ideas and innovations to ensure that they are constantly delivering on the needs of their clients.

This position will offer the right individual a chance to not only be responsible for general financial accounting work but also flex and grow your capability as a Business Partner.

This crucial position will be hands-on with the day-to-day operations of the finance function, ensuring that financial practices and procedures are adhered to. You will be involved with financial accounting duties including monthly financial statements, reconciliations, EOM processes, journals, and tax. In addition, this blended role will see you be involved with annual budget reviews and detailed analysis on business performance, reviewing revenue generation, cost control and review of expenditure, as well as monthly management reports and the review of historical hours. You will work closely with the GM to ensure that they are fully briefed with the appropriate financial information to allow them to make critical business decisions that will affect the future direction of the company.

We're not just looking for a Financial Accountant, that is only a part of this role. We're looking for a Business Partner who can develop and build essential relationships with a diverse workforce across the wider company. So, whilst you are technically capable, we also want you to have a strong focus on people and how you can help them understand their involvement in the wider business. You will also manage two direct reports who are at different stages of their career so an ability to lead and not just manage is desired.

To be considered for this position you will be a fully qualified accountant, with a minimum of 4 years in a commercial role ideally having a blend of skills across management and financial accounting. As mentioned, we value your technical capability but your desire and capability to partner with people and create meaningful, collaborative relationships is just as important. You'll work with a manager who is interstate so there is a high level of autonomy in this position, so you'll quickly be able to foster trust and show your ability.

Your Skills & Experience

  • Degree qualified in Commerce, Business, or related field.
  • CPA or CA qualified
  • At least 4 years' experience in a commercial role.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Extraordinary ability to multi-task and attention to detail are critical.
  • Strong Business Partner skills
