An exciting opportunity now exists for an experienced Tax Accountant to join the Perenti Group and assist with tax related activities including but not limited to accounting, compliance, risk governance, planning and any other tax related initiatives for the Perenti Group's operations

The key responsibilities of the role include:
  • Responsible for Tax effect accounting for monthly management accounting & tax reports, half yearly and annual audits & tax reports.
  • Preparation and lodgement of the Australian income tax returns, Australian BAS and Activity Statements, FBT Returns, Payroll Tax Returns, Employee Share Scheme Reporting and all other Australian tax compliance requirements.
  • Assists with designing and implementing tax policies and procedures across the Perenti Group.
  • Review and assist with fixed assets register, balance sheets and tax related projects across the Perenti Group.
  • Participate in tax automation projects and country by country report as and when required.
To be successful for the role, you will need the following skills:
  • Tertiary Degree in Finance OR Accounting
  • Certified Practicing Accountant or Chartered Accountant
  • Minimum 4 years of tax experience at a large accounting firm or large corporate.
  • Strong tax compliance experience including tax accounting and reporting
  • Understanding of transfer pricing concepts and cross boarder tax issues
  • Understanding and exposure to withholding tax "WHT"
  • Understanding of Controlled Foreign Company "CFC" rules
  • Strong tax analytical skills
  • Exposure and experience in ERP Products would be an advantage
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including experience in communicating with the ATO through review and audit activities.
  • Strong Sense of initiative, "can-do" attitude, and pro-activeness to suggest improvements and implement practical solutions to challenges and processes
