Position at Tokio Marine HCC

Job Purpose:

Responsible for assisting with the preparation of statutory and other internal and external reporting requirements for the legal entities within the TM HCC International Group. This includes quarterly consolidation of three UK insurance entities, small UK entities and insurance intermediaries, analytical & technical reviews and Non-Lloyd's external reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Group Reporting manager in the quarterly preparation of the International Group's consolidated UK GAAP management accounts.
  • Assist in the preparation of key sections of the quarterly CFO report for the combined International platforms and individual legal entity results for the Audit Committee and Board of Directors meetings. This includes preparing commentary and analytical review of legal entity balance sheets and income statements.
  • Involvement in ad-hoc internal and external reporting activities.
  • Assist with the management of the legal entity team quarterly and annual timetable.
  • Assist with the prepare annual statutory and quarterly management accounts for the UK insurance entities including smaller companies, with supporting analytical review and analysis.
  • Work with external auditors to support the timely completion of annual statutory audits.
  • Involvement in developing tools and performing quality assurance checks.
  • Assisting with the preparation of regulatory returns


Delivery of projects, initiatives and objectives:
  • Key involvement and ownership of some Legal Entity Reporting projects to ensure that they meet defined objectives and are delivered on time.
  • Support the Group Reporting Manager and Statutory and Technical Accounting Manager for internal and external reporting, taking the lead where required.
  • Encourage a culture of continuous improvement and 'end to end process' thinking.
  • Use a collaborative approach when working with others.
  • Provide support to and knowledge sharing within the team.


Skills and Experience Specification:

Essential
  • Part qualified accountant
  • Insurance Accounting Experience
  • Experience and competency using a big General Ledger system.
  • Advanced Excel
  • Methodical approach to problem solving and decision making
  • Good people and communication skills
  • Solution focused, with an appetite to take responsibility for delivery of work.
