About the Role

The role of the Financial Accountant is to deliver efficient and effective financial accounting services that allows the Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria (RBGV) to meet its statutory, corporate and operating obligations. It will also develop policies and procedures to support and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the financial accounting system including internal controls. Further duties will include overseeing the internal and external audit processes as pertaining to financial matters, maintaining relationships with relevant stakeholders and controlling the accounting and management of Fixed Assets, ensuring all registers are accurate and implemented.

About You

The successful candidate will hold tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance as well as CPA/CA membership. You will have extensive experience in preparing financial statements within a medium-sized organisation, preferably in a public sector environment. Whilst you are analytically minded you will also have the creativity and communication skills to interact, negotiate and present to key-stakeholders across Board, Executive and government levels. You are now looking to utilise your skills within a collaborative and hardworking team within a nationally-renowned organisation.
