External audit is core to our business and we leverage this skill set to support our clients on assurance engagements in areas such as accounting and regulatory change, client money, internal audit, treasury and prudential risk, transaction services and finance transformation. Your role
We are looking to expand our team of focused, aspirational and collaborative Treasury practitioners, and as such we are offering the opportunity to join as an Assistant Manager to support this challenging and diverse business. As a member of our team, reporting to a Manager or Senior Manager, and on certain engagements to a Director or Partner, you will:
• Field manage Treasury audit and assurance engagements, including management of client relationships;
• Plan and deliver a range of audit and assurance services;
• Supervise teams to successfully execute engagements and mentor more junior members of staff;
• Help to drive our continuous improvement in audit methodology and develop new ways of working through innovation and transformation; and
• Participate in practice management activities, including facilitation of internal training courses and staff development.

Location: You will be based in either the Deloitte Edinburgh or Glasgow office, however travel will be required for client based projects.

Work pattern: This is a full time and permanent role however we are happy to consider requests for agile working patterns.

Your professional experience

A successful candidate is likely to possess some or all of the following characteristics:
• Candidates should ideally have audit experience and hold a relevant accounting and/or treasury qualification, such as ACA, ACCA or ACT;
• Experience of, or exposure to, core treasury operations, systems, market risk identification and management and accounting for treasury products (debt and derivative financial instruments);
• Experience performing external audits and assurance engagements;
• Experience managing small to medium sized audit engagements and managing audit teams;
• Knowledge of auditing techniques including risk assessment, scoping, devising and audit approach, controls testing and substantive testing;
• Report writing, presentation and interpersonal skills, including excellent written and verbal communications skills;
• Management and organisational skills; and
• Proven ability to use initiative, adapt solve problems.
