We have a proven track record in supporting our payroll specialists to develop, so we're looking for our next Payroll Trainee to join the team, help process our clients' payrolls and work towards a professional payroll qualification.

We offer the chance to work with clients in a wide range of sectors. This entry level role would suit someone who is interested in developing a career in payroll. You will have the chance to earn whilst you learn, by completing your professional payroll qualification at the same time as gaining on-the-job experience.

What you will do:

• Process client payrolls from start to finish

• In addition to this, you will produce statutory payments to HMRC

• Work closely with the payroll team to respond to client queries

• Meet client deadlines to ensure that clients are paid the correct amount at the correct time

• Administrative tasks to assist the team in the preparation of the payrolls

• Work towards your professional payroll qualification with our training provider

After training you will progress on to:

• take responsibility for a portfolio of clients, and;

• provide specialist payroll advise to clients on a range of queries.

Who we are looking for:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person who is willing to work hard and learn in a professional team. The type of person we are looking for will:

• Be interested in developing a career in payroll/accountancy practice

• Have good grades from school/college in Mathematics and English or other relevant subjects, e.g. Accounting, Business Studies,

• Or you may be looking for a change of career with good transferrable skills gained through work experience

• Show that you take pride in your work through accuracy and attention to detail

• A responsible person who is punctual and is able to work to deadlines

• Demonstrate that you are an organised person

• Show good communication skills by listening and asking the right questions meaning in time, you will develop good working relationships

• Be good with information technology, ideally you might have used Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)

• Show that you can use your initiative

• Be willing to learn and study toward a qualification
