Regional Management Accountant

This role is initially Regional Management Accountant, but within the near future, the role will develop to include the management of a small transactional team of c. 5. Therefore, this role would suit someone who is keen for an opportunity to progress their career.

Description

The Regional Management Accountant will be reporting into the Regional Finance Manager. You will be responsible for the accounts for 3 sites in the midlands (one in Burton-on-Trent and 2 south from Burton-on-Trent), which have a combined turnover of c. £16 million. You will mainly be based from the site in Burton-on-Trent and from home, but travel will be required on an ad hoc basis to the other 2 sites (i.e. once per month). Your role will be a great mix of management accounts, analysis and business partnering. Your duties will include, but will not be limited to:

• Preparing the monthly management accounts for the 3 sites, with detailed variance analysis and review of the P&L
• Business partnering the site managers, and supporting them with understanding the finances of the sites
• Preparing job costing analysis to reconcile with the management accounts
• Checking and challenging the monthly stock and WIP numbers
• Posting monthly journals
• Reviewing and managing the balance sheets, and investigating any anomalies
• Supporting with the budgeting and re-forecasting process
• Submitting the monthly VAT returns
• Supporting with implementing new processes and procedures
• Acting as the point of contact for all audit queries

As well as support from the Regional Finance Manager, you will have the support of other Regional Management Accountants in the business.

Profile

To apply for this position you must:

• Have a proven track record of working in management accounts
• Have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle
• Have the ability to work autonomously and manage your own diary, but also work as part of a team
• Be studying an accounting qualification, or be qualified by experience
