Senior General Ledger Accountant with German

In this position you will be responsible for various operational F&A activities within General Ledger area in our Regional Shared Services Center’s office in Katowice - fully remote work now and in the future or in the office.

WHAT TASKS CAN YOU EXPECT?

  • Leading Month End Close related activities for German legal entities
  • Leading the entire accounting process for general ledger, inventory, fixed assets and cash flow
  • Executing accounting guidelines received from the Global Office and the IFRS Competence Centre
  • Preparing Statutory Financial Statements
  • Applying HGB and IFRS accounting standards
  • Performing daily accounting transactions in SAP, on request and according to the monthly schedule
  • Reconciling and maintaining the Fixed Asset ledger
  • Performing Fixed Assets related transactions (additions, scrapping, write-offs, transfers etc.)
  • Initiating and coordinating Fixed Assets counts with local units
  • Reconciling Intercompany transaction
  • Reconciling Balance Sheet accounts on a monthly basis
  • Reconciling Cash flow data
  • Liaising with external and internal auditors
  • Executing Internal Controls and ensuring compliance of activities in scope with the Controls Framework
  • Participating in knowledge transfer from German legal entities

WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES SHOULD YOU HAVE?

  • Very good command of English and German (both verbal and written min. C1)
  • University/ College Degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting or Economics
  • +3 years of experience in similar position, ideally in an international SSC or BPO environment
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles
  • Experience with process documentation will be an asset
  • Very good communication skills, customer focus and ability to work in the team
  • SAP and MS Office knowledge
